REVIEW: AVON Magic Effects Mineral Crush nail polish

 Hi lovelies!

If any of you knows me in real life, then you know that I can't say no to nail polishes. And when I saw these beauties in AVON catalogue I knew they will mine one day. I couldn't resist for more than 2 hours (I'm not joking!!!), so I placed my order. 

A few days later they were delivered to my door. I got 3 shades and I regret not getting the others. 

 Left to right: Topaz, Agate, Pearl

Other available shades are:

- Rose Quarts (pinkier version of Pearl)

-Ruby (lovely red shade)

-Diamond (silver)

 They came in black boxes which I find really special, since I never got a nail polish bottle in a box. There are all informations on the boxes and also the name of the shade on top. 

Bottles are basic AVON nail polish bottles. They have stickers with names on the bottom. 

The brush is really nice (forgot to take a picture), wide and not to long, straight cut on the bristles.

They apply like a dream, it's really easy to work with the brush and formula is thick enough that you need 2 thin coats for full coverage. Or one thicker one.

The drying time is super quick. When I paint my second hand, the first one is ready for a new coat. 

The finish is matt but shiny because of the glitter. To touch they are similar to sand nails, but not as rough as most of the sand polishes I tried in the past.

The removing can be a bit of a process, but I use pure acetone for removing glitter and gel so I don't have any problems at all. 

The regular price is 5,90€, but usually they are 3,90€.

Pearl is a light pink/beige shade with silver glitters of different sizes. I don't like it on all nails but, I like it in combination with other colors.

Agate is a dark blue with a bit of purple in it and also different size silver glitters. It is my favorite of them.

Topaz is well...topaz green with silver glitters.

Here I want to share just one of the pictures of my go to manicure, if I'm in a hurry, I always use these polishes, since they dry so fast and also you don't need many coats.

Essence Fun Fair TE Products Review

Hi lovelies!

Essence came out with new Trend Edition collection, called Fun Fair. It's a fair themed in fun pastel colours, candy looking and also smelling products.

I got the opportunity to test 2 products about a month before the collection was released and since i loved them both i bought some stuff myself also :)

On the top you can see the whole collection, I didn't get any eyeshadows since i don't really use that kind of colours, i have enough of pearls and the lipsticks are too similar to the ones i already own. :)

BLUSH

*01 Ring Around The Rosy & 02 Sweetheart's Sweet Tooth

 The packaging is clear plastic, but it's very hard, so it's good for traveling. Blushes are baked wich means they are pigmented as hell :D  The price for a blush is 3,29€ and i must say if you like blushes, they are a must :D

 Ring Around The Rosy is a cool toned hot bubble gum pink. The Sweetheart's Sweet Tooth is a cool toned peachy color. They both have a sheen,

The peachy one is more like a highlighter or a blush topper, on it's own it will give just a sheen on yout cheeks, but the pink one...oh boy it's awesome :D They are not dusty at all but just smooth, they blend nicly and lasts about 8 hours on my cheeks.

 They are in such fun colors! The bottle is standard Essence for TE and Effect nail polishes, the brush is nice and flat. The finish is satin matt. In the bottle you can see tiny glitters but they are not vissible once the polish is dry.  They have a candy scent when they are dry and it lasts for around two days and then you can't notice it anymore. Each color has a diferent scent.  The price for tha polishes is 2,19€,

COTTON CANDY NAILS

*01 Candylicious

 This is just a fine fibers/dust with glitters. I sprinkled it over wet nail polish, tap of waht was left and wait for it too dry. The finish is very soft and it looks really pretty. I had mine on of 4 days and it didn't move, but it did loose the color after 2 days, so it was jsut white/gray at the end...but still because of the colored polish under, it wasn't that noticable.

The price is 2,79€.

This TE will be avalible in stores in July and August!

Nail polish 101: the horror of the white nail polish

Is white nail polish still in fashion? I can not tell because, to be honest, I was never into fashion and anything related to it. In fashion or not, I finally bought one, because I needed one (or so I told myself) for a manicure that I had in mind (that I will hopefully do soon). But one does not simply buy a white nail polish and use it, oh no no, it is much more complicated than that. White nail polishes are known to be one of the hardest to get right (alongside with other beautifull light colours), because they are eather thick and opaque or thin and sheer (we are talking translucent). And I learned that the hard way… Let's just say that when I first painted my nails white it looked like I had Grand Canyon on my nails. But practice makes perfect and trough some trial and error I finally managed to »master« the art of applying white nail polish. I would like to share with you today how I apply this white goodness. Please feel free to leave any more tips and your favourite white nail polish :)

I always ask myself why am I doing these kinds of posts... I am a firm believer that you can always wear whatever colour nail polish (or make up) you want no matter what time of the year it is. But I do find myself using some colours more and some less depending on the time of the year. I guess that is how it goes with everybody. Spring Wishlist ~ Tjaša

I am a dreamer by heart. After all, dreams and wishes are free, aren't they? :) 

After browsing trough the wast world of make up on the internet I decided to make this wishlist, of products that I was most excited about. Only 10 products are here and believe me, it was hard to pick my favourites.

NAIL POLISHES:

a crewed interest - coral, peach, any shade of orange, you name it I love it. I just recently decided there is a huge shortage of orange nail polishes in my collection and so this baby deserved the spot on my wishlist. 

pink about it - As with oranges, there is a huge hole in the pink department when it comes to my nail polish collection. I am not very keen on bright pink, nor on pink in general, but this colour immediately got me, because it just screams spring.

REVIEW: Beauty UK Posh Polish - no. 12 Intergalactic

Last week was quite hectic. Thank god I already have some posts written in advance. This is one of them :) April always means exam time for me and this year is no different so I do not know what my posting scedule will be in the next month. I will try to post as much as I can :) enough about me, let's get to the review :)

This polish comes in a nice package and contains 9 ml of product, whitch is more than enough. I have this polish for quite some time and I use it quite a lot and the polish still looks like it is unused. It contains nice, different shaped glitter in multiple colours ( blue, red, pink, yellow and green) in a transparent base.

It has a nice slim brush for an easy application. The formula of the polish is quite thick witch is good and bad at the same time. It is good because there are so many glitters in it witch means that you need only one coat of the nail polish for the glitters to really show. On the other side the polish chunks around the lid so it is hard to open it sometimes. In that regard the lid needs cleaning from time to time.

This polish has a really amazing staying power. It stays on no matter  what (except if you bite it of your nails) and can be a real pain to remove. I tried to remove it with several nail polish removers (aceton free or not) and it does take quite some time to take off. Because of this I would recommend this polish to people that do not change their nail polish on a daily basis.

On the picture I used only one layer of the posh polish (over essence colour & go - miss universe).

Nails of the Day - French Manicure

It feels like forever since I posted my last post, aldough it is only been three days. I am quite in a gaming mood this week. I am also out of ideas, for blog posts, in the moment. Still I decided to post this nails of the day post, since this is my first french manicure I have done. I am quite satisfied, and you?

REVIEW: Catrice Luxury Laquers

Today I have for you a review of some new limited edition Catrice polishes called Luxury Laquers. They como in three different forms, holographic, sand effect and glitter, all in multiple colours. I bought one of each in purple... because there is never enough purple :)

So here are some swatches and my oppinion :)

Plum Me Up Scotty (Holomania)

Plum me up Scotty is a beautiful purple holographic polish with a seriously awesome name :) It is opaqe in only one coat, but I used two, because old habits die hard. It lasts on my nails around 2 days before chipping, without any top coat. It is easy to remove and it dries quite fast.

PLUMbeach (sand sation) 

A nice sand effect polish that is more of a pinkish violet. I find it less rough than PLUMdogMillionare from their Crushed Crystals collection. It lasts around 2 - 3 days before it chipps, without top coat and is harder to remove. I needed 2 coats for full opacity (it also states soo on the bottle).

The Big Bling Theory (million brilliance) 

This polish was the biggest disappointment of the three. It contains bigger and smaller round purple glitters in a transparent base. It did not cover my nails completly even after 2 coats. I think it is better to use it as a layering polish than on its own. It lasted on me for 3 days without chipping. It is the hardest to remove of the three.

All three polishes contain 10 ml of product and are in a standard Catrice packaging with a black lid.

They all have a big brush, that is cut on the edges and the brisles are not all the same lenght. It is a shame, because with the right brush these polishes could be even more awesome.

All and all they are quite nice, especially the holographic polishes. There are really some pretty colours and the formula is quite nice, I just wish they would start to make better brushes.

REVIEW: ESSENCE Special Topper 22 black dress and white tie

Today I have for you a review of a wonderful new polish Essence made :) It is really something special , I do not think any company made a polish like this before (please correct me if I am wrong). Enough chit chat, let's see some swatches and what I have to say :)

 

The polish comes in a nice standard Essence packaging with a silver lid. It contains 8 ml/0.27 fl.oz of  product. The polish is a translucent base with some small silver glitters and some big round black and white glitters. It retails for 1,49e in my local Muiller.

It has a nice brush  and applies quite nicely. The polish  dries quite fast and stays on quite some time. I have it on my nails for the last 3 days without a top coat and it is still looking untuched :) I did not try to remove this polish but I think the best tehnicque would be foiling because polishes like this can damage your nails if you are too rough while removing it.

I looooove this polish :)I It is a normal polish, but what makes it so special for me is the glitters :)

REVIEW: Catrice Crushed Crystals - 02 PLUMdogMillionare

Today I have for you I quick review of a new Catrice polish.  This colour was the only one that I wanted to get from their crushed crystal, others just were not my cup of tea. (fun fact, I forgot these are the "sand effect" polishes... and I really hate any kind of texture on my nails... oh the first world problems :P)

PLUMdogMillionare is a pourple based polish with pink, blue and purple glitters that are all the same size (small and round).

It has a standard Catrice brush. I personally do not really like it, but it is not the most crappy brush eather. The polish applies  quite nicely, and can be worn alone, or topped over any other polish. I wore it over some black and light purple polish and it looked better than on its own (in my oppinion). 

Even after two coats there can appear some "bald spots" on the nails (a part of the nail looks patchy), so I would advice using three coats.

On these pictures I used only two coats, and there were some lighter patches on the middle finger, but it does not look like that in the picture.

This polish did not chip on me for about two to three days, but I did get worn down nail tips on some of my nails. Because of the type of the polish, you can expect it being hard to remove, and let me tell you, it is really not pleasant. Foil technique is the best choice for removing this pretty fella, because you can damage your nails if you try to do it any other way.
