Hello lovelies :D
Not many people think about sun cream before summer, or before they go on summer vacation, but I am on a hunt for a goot sun cream no matter the season. Ever since I got my first tattoo (which is about 4 years ago :O), I started using sun cream every day, no matter the weather. Not only does it protect my tattoos from loosing colour too fast, it also protects my skin from those nasty sun rays that cause premature aging and skin cancer. I used chemical sun creams nearly all my life, and they worked fine, but some time ago I wanted to experiment with a mineral sun cream. I got myself a sun cream from Averde, to try out, and this is what I think of it after 2 months of constant use.
This sun cream comes in a big soft tube with a yellow lid. There is 150 ml of product in it, which is quite a lot considering the formula mineral sun creams usually have. The cream is white and really thick. It does not absorb into the skin, but instead stays on the skin, giving it a white cast. The reason for this is that mineral sun screen is supposed to act like a physical barrier (hence also the name physical sun screen), instead of a chemical barrier, like chemical sun screens do. The cream does appear thick on the skin, but it does not feel heavy, especially after I use make up. It also does not have the typical chemical smell, it smells more like... earth(does that even make any sense xD). I really do not know how to describe the scent other than earthy and not intrusive. I had no problem allpying make up over it. I did have to use a bit more powder, to set my make up, but other than that the cream did not disturb my make up in any way.
The biggest fear I had was that the cream would clog my pores, since I read on multiple sites that mineral sun screen can clog pores and might not be the best thing for oily skin, but so far I had no problems with acne or clogged pores. I think that as long as you clean your skin realy good before you put this cream on, there should be no problem.
