EOTD: Christmas dinner with Al Burgundy

Hello lovelies :)
It is Christmaaaaaaaas!
Me and my boyfriend are going to have a dinner with my family, as we do every year on Christmas Eve and I decided to share the make up I am going to wear today :) I did not know what to wear, the only think I knew is that I would like to wear Al Burgundy, since it is such a beautifull shade. Here is what I came up with :)

PRODUCTS USED:
*Jordana 12hr made to last eyeshadow pencil in 04 continuous almond
*Catrice matt velvet eyeshadows in 01 Vanillaty Fair, 030 Jump Up And Brown and 040 Al Burgundy
*MUA Undress Me Too eyeshadow palette (Devotion and Shy)
*Catrice Lash Extension Volume Mascara
*Catrice Liquid Liner in 010 Dating Joe Black

I used Jordana 12hr made to last eyeshadow pencil in 04 continuous almond as a base for my eyeshadows all ower my eyelid up to the brow and applied Al Burgundy all over my lid.

After that I applied Jump Up and Brown into the crease and blended it out.

I used Vanillaty Fair on my browbone, Shy on the inner corner of my eyes and Devotion on the middle of the lid to add a bit of sparkle.

I finished the look with Catrice Liquid Liner in 010 Dating Joe Black and applied two coats of Catrice Lash Extension Volume Mascara on the upper lashes and a coat on the lower lashes.

What make up will you be wearing today? How will you spend your Christmas eve?
Have a nice day and Merry Christmas :)

Secret Santa :)

Hello lovelies :)
I have a bit of a different post for you today :) Živa from Nothing Fancy Really organised Secret Santa at the beginning of December, and ofcourse all of fellow beauty bloggers (including me) participated. I got the gift a few days ago and needless to say I was happy as a child on a Christmas morning. My lovely secret Santa turned out to be Jasna from Jessie Fairytale and I must say that I really like the gift I got.

EOTD: Soft & lilac

Hello lovelies :)
I have a new eotd to share with you today :) It is a very soft look with a bold cat eye, something I like to wear for every day. Here is how I did it and what I used :)

PRODUCTS USED:
*Essence I <3 stage eyeshadow primer
*Catrice eyeshadow C01 Chilly White (Lala Berlin LE)
*Wet'n'Wild Petal pusher palette eyelid colour
*Sleek au naturel palette Nugat and toast
*Catrice waterproof gel eyeliner 010 Black Jack with Jack Black
*Catrice Lash extension volume mascara

First I used Essence I <3 stage eyeshadow primer to prime my eyelids and applied Catrice eyeshadow C01 Chilly White all over my lid, stopping at the crease.

I applied Nugat in the crease and Toast on the browbone, both eyeshadows are from the Sleek Au Naturel palette.

I applied  the darker brownish purple eyelid colour from the Wet'n'Wild Petal Pusher palette on the outer corner and the outer half of my lower lash line.

I finished the look with the Catrice waterproof gel eyeliner and Catrice Lash extension volume mascara on my lower and upper lashes.

And that would be all for today :) I really like the look, but I would probably change the line, making it not so bold.

What do you think?
Have a nice day ;)

REVIEW: Catrice Color Correcting Mattifying Powder

Hello lovelies :)
I have this powder for quite some time now and I have been using it on and off since I have quite a few face powders to finish (I have a face powder problem). I was postponing this review for various reasons, the main being that the product left kinda a meh first impression. I think that I tested the product enough now to give you my oppinion on it.

The powder comes in a plastic compact packaging. The packaging would probably survive traveling but it probably won't survive a drop on the floor. There is 8 g /0.28 oz of product in it, which should last you quite some time.

It has a thin consistency and goes almost transparent on the skin. It leaves the skin matt for quite some time and does not appear powdery. Aldough this powder contains purple, reddish, orange and green pigments it does not have any colour correcting capabilities, since it has such a thin texture. The mattifying properties do not last the whole day, at least not on my oily skin, but it can be reapplied without looking cakey or patchy on the skin. It is easy to apply and blend into the skin, but getting it on the brush can be a bit tricky, since you need to rubb the brush into the product to get enough product on the brush.

All in all, this is just an ordinary face powder, it does it's job well, just do not expect any major colour correction.

Did you try this powder? What are your thoughts on it?
Have a nice day :)

EOTD: Blue Had Me At Hello

Hello lovelies :)
I do not wear blue eyeshadow very much, but I fell in love with this look. I used only Blue had me at hello by Wet'n'Wild palette, which I got from the Destination Pretty online store.

PRODUCTS USED:*Wet'n'Wild Blue had me at hello eyeshadow palette
*Catrice Lashes to kill volume mascara
*Essence I <3 stage mascara
*Catrice liquid liner (010 Dating Joe Black)

I used the light blue eyelid colour all over my lid and blended it into my crease.

After I was happy with the intensity of the eyelid colour I used the light blue browbone colour to highlight the inner corner of my eyes and blend out the edge of the blue eyelid colour.

I used the dark blue crease colour and applied it on the outer third of my upper lid,

I applied the same dark blue colour on the outer third of my lower lash line and the light blue colour on the inner two thirds of the lower lash line.

I finished my make up with a Catrice Lashes to kill volume mascara and Catrice liquid liner.

What do you think about this look?
Have a nice day ;)

REVIEW: Catrice waterproof gel eyeliner (010 Black Jack With Jack Black)

Hello lovelies :)
I did not use gel liners for quite some time, since using eyeshadow and liquid liners was far more convenient for me, but since we got this gel liner on the Essence & Catrice event I decided to try it out. Here is what I think about this product.

The gel liner comes in a glass packaging with a black lid. There is 3,5g/0.12 oz. of product in the packaging, which should last quite a long time. The packaging is quite heavy and sturdy.

The gel has quite a thick texture and is really black and pigmented. It has quite a smooth texture, aldough it is a bit tricky to apply with an angeled eyeliner brush. I feel like I get the best results applying it with a really thin eyeliner brush instead of an angeled brush. As for the longevity, it does not smudge, but it does transfer into the crease after some time. Aldough it is waterproof it is quite easy to remove. I also used this gel on the waterline, it went on nice and smooth, did not irritate my eyes and lasted for quite a few hours.

Here you can see how it looks like applied with an angeled brush. The line is not as precise and crisp and doing a thin line with an angeled brush is almost impossible (at least for me).

All in all I am not disappointed with the product, as far as longevity and opacity goes, but I have some difficulty applying it nicely.

Did you try out this product? What do you think?
Have a nice day ;)

EOTD: Trying out a new palette

Hello lovelies :)
Ever since I saw Taya's review of the Mememe palette (click here to read it) I wanted to try out one of their palettes. Since I do not have many green eyeshadows in my collection, I decided to get the palette in a shade Ocean eyes, which is full of greeny bluish colours. I decided to do a look with it to test it out :)

PRODUCTS USED:
*Mememe Ocean eyes quad
*Catrice Lashes to kill volume mascara
*Essence I <3 stage mascara

I used the lightest green shade from the quad all over my lid and blended it into the crease.

I applied the blue green shade (top left corner in the palette) all over my lid and blended it in the light green colour.

I applied the darker blue green colour (top right corner in the quad), on my lower lash line, leaving the inner third of the lash line. I applied the light green colour on the inner third of my lower lash line and blended both volours together.

I finished the look with two coats of Catrice Lashes to kill volume mascara on my top and bottom lashes.

I really like this quad and I really like how this look turned out :) I will definetly review this quad in the future.
Did you try any of the Mememe products?
Have a nice day ;)

Christmas Challenge 2014 ~ Day 1: Let It Snow

Hey lovelies!

About a week ago Tatjana created Christmas Challenge 2014, here you can see her post.
Basiclly there are 10 challanges for 10 days. First is going up today on the 1. of December and the rest whenever you want to this month. You can do nails, makeup, what ever you want.
Here are the themes for all 10 days:

I will be posting every Monday and Saturday, only the last post will be on Wednesday, the last day of this year! :)

Day 1: Let It Snow

What i used:
  •  Essie - Vested Interested
  • Catrice Million Styles Effect Top Coat - 02 Holo, Que, Tal?
  • Essence Effect nail polish - 22 i<3 magic
  • Black, white, red and yellow acrylic paint
  • angled small nail art brush
  • squear small nail art brush
  • small dotting tool
  • orange wood stick
  • sponge

First i did 2 coats of Vested Interested, applyed Holo, Que, Tal? on all nails, then i used I<3 magic on my thumb, index and ring finger.
I drew some branches/ trees on all of the nails, except the middle one. For that i used black acrylic paint and the orange wood stick. With the angled brush i added some white paint on the branches to recreate snow. On the middle finger i drew a snow man with white paint, with black paint i did the had, hands, eyes and buttons. I mixed yellow and red acrylic paint for the nose/karots.

Here is the finished look:

After some time i added ''snow'' with a sponge and white paint of the bottom, but i don't know if i really like it.

AND BY THE WAY, IT ACTUALLY STARTED SNOWING WHEN I WAS TAKING PICTURES FOR THIS POST!! :D

What do you think about this manicure?
If you do this challenge please post a link in the comments so i can see it, if you post it on Facebook, Twitter or instagram use #christmaschallenge2014

Have a lovely day!

REVIEW: Catrice Nail Polishes (Lala Berlin for Catrice LE)

 Hello lovelies :)
I have another review of Lala Berlin for Catrice products for you, this time some nail polishes. I already reviewed the holographic eyeshadow from the same collection here. While I was not really pleased with the eyeshadow, due to it's lousy staying power, I do quite like these nail polishes, but that being said, I like Catrice nail polishes in general (excep for the brush).

These nail polishes come in a standard Catrice nail polish packaging that is oval with a black lid, but this time the lid is matte and has a slight rubber feelig and lala berlin is written on the bottle in black. You get 10 ml / 0.33 fl.oz. of product in the bottle.

The formula is really nice, a bit creamier than their standard formula, and the brush is the same as with their other nail polishes. I said it already and I will say it again, I do not like the brush. It is not nicely and evenly cut and it is too pointy. It is definetly workable, because of the formula, but the brush itself is rubbish.

The picture does not do any justice to Shade of Grey and Chilly White, they are both glossy when applied to my nails, but for some reason they became matte when I applied them to the nail wheel :/

I got 3 shades from this collection (there are 5 shades of nail polish):
Shade of Grey: a warm dark grey colour with holographic glitter in it, mostly purple and red. It is opaque in 1-2 coats (depending on how thick the coats are)
Chilly White: This is the most sheer colour of all, it requires 2 coats to be opaque or a white base. It is a very pale champagne colour with holographic sparkle in it.
Ruling Red: this colour is my favourite of the bunch (and I never liked red nail polishes untill I applied this one), it is a dark red that dries fully matt. It is opaque in 1-2 coats.

All of the shades lasted on my nails for about 2 days without chipping, which is quite standard for me when using Catrice nail polishes. Also none of the shades applied streaky.

To recap: If you like the Catrice nail polish formula you will like these, just beware of the brush.

Have you tried any products from Lala Berlin for Catrice LE?
have a nice day :)

REVIEW: Catrice Holographic eyeshadow C01 Chilly white (Lala Berlin for Catrice LE)

Hello lovelies :)
Lala Berlin for Catrice just recently came in Slovenian drugstores and I picked up some products from the line. I had really high hopes for these products and some sadly just did not cut it for me. Today I am reviewing the holographic eyeshadow, which I fell in love with upon first application, but sadly when testing it, it did not turn out all that faboulous...

The eyeshadow comes in a nice sturdy black plastic packaging that looks really nice. There is 2,7g/0,09oz of product in it, which is more than twice the normal amount.

It looks like a white slightly shampagin shimmery colour in the pan, but when applied on the looks it looks more like a soft lilac shade with holographic glitter in it. It is a bit powdery, but there was no fallout when applying the shade. It can be used on it's own, aldough it is a bit sheer, but it can be layered to achieve greater pigmentation. It blends nicely and it does not appear patchy. Sadly it does not last on me for more than 4 hours, which is not really much comparing to other eyeshadows from the drugstore. It might last longer on somebody else, but on my oily lids it sadly creases to much and to soon, no matter what base I use.

The eyeshadow is really beautifull, but longevity just breaks the deal for me. I can not really incorporate it in a look without fearing it creasing troughout the day.

Did you try this eyeshadow? What do you think?
Have a nice day :)

NOTD: Leopard print

Hello lovelies :)
I am currently loving the new nail polishes from Lala Berlin for Catrice LE and I decided to do some nail art with it. I am not completly satisfyed with the result, but we learn every day and not everything can be perfect. This was my first attempt at making leopard print and here is what I used:

*Catrice Colour Brightening Base Coat 01 On Top Of The Alpes
*Catrice C01 Shade of grey
*Catrice C02 Chilly White
*Catrice C05 Ruling Red

I used 2 coats of Colour Brightening Base Coat as my base colour and than layered 1 layer of  C02 Chilly White. After my base colour was dry I used C01 Shade of Grey to outline where the spots will be. After everything was dry I used C05 Ruling Red for to fill spots.

It looks much easier than it actually is, hopefully I will get better at doing leopard print in the future, since I really like the look.

Did you ever try to do leopard print?
Have a nice day ;)
