REVIEW: Catrice Nail Polishes (Lala Berlin for Catrice LE)

 Hello lovelies :)
I have another review of Lala Berlin for Catrice products for you, this time some nail polishes. I already reviewed the holographic eyeshadow from the same collection here. While I was not really pleased with the eyeshadow, due to it's lousy staying power, I do quite like these nail polishes, but that being said, I like Catrice nail polishes in general (excep for the brush).

These nail polishes come in a standard Catrice nail polish packaging that is oval with a black lid, but this time the lid is matte and has a slight rubber feelig and lala berlin is written on the bottle in black. You get 10 ml / 0.33 fl.oz. of product in the bottle.

The formula is really nice, a bit creamier than their standard formula, and the brush is the same as with their other nail polishes. I said it already and I will say it again, I do not like the brush. It is not nicely and evenly cut and it is too pointy. It is definetly workable, because of the formula, but the brush itself is rubbish.

The picture does not do any justice to Shade of Grey and Chilly White, they are both glossy when applied to my nails, but for some reason they became matte when I applied them to the nail wheel :/

I got 3 shades from this collection (there are 5 shades of nail polish):
Shade of Grey: a warm dark grey colour with holographic glitter in it, mostly purple and red. It is opaque in 1-2 coats (depending on how thick the coats are)
Chilly White: This is the most sheer colour of all, it requires 2 coats to be opaque or a white base. It is a very pale champagne colour with holographic sparkle in it.
Ruling Red: this colour is my favourite of the bunch (and I never liked red nail polishes untill I applied this one), it is a dark red that dries fully matt. It is opaque in 1-2 coats.

All of the shades lasted on my nails for about 2 days without chipping, which is quite standard for me when using Catrice nail polishes. Also none of the shades applied streaky.

To recap: If you like the Catrice nail polish formula you will like these, just beware of the brush.

Have you tried any products from Lala Berlin for Catrice LE?
have a nice day :)

REVIEW: Catrice Holographic eyeshadow C01 Chilly white (Lala Berlin for Catrice LE)

Hello lovelies :)
Lala Berlin for Catrice just recently came in Slovenian drugstores and I picked up some products from the line. I had really high hopes for these products and some sadly just did not cut it for me. Today I am reviewing the holographic eyeshadow, which I fell in love with upon first application, but sadly when testing it, it did not turn out all that faboulous...

The eyeshadow comes in a nice sturdy black plastic packaging that looks really nice. There is 2,7g/0,09oz of product in it, which is more than twice the normal amount.

It looks like a white slightly shampagin shimmery colour in the pan, but when applied on the looks it looks more like a soft lilac shade with holographic glitter in it. It is a bit powdery, but there was no fallout when applying the shade. It can be used on it's own, aldough it is a bit sheer, but it can be layered to achieve greater pigmentation. It blends nicely and it does not appear patchy. Sadly it does not last on me for more than 4 hours, which is not really much comparing to other eyeshadows from the drugstore. It might last longer on somebody else, but on my oily lids it sadly creases to much and to soon, no matter what base I use.

The eyeshadow is really beautifull, but longevity just breaks the deal for me. I can not really incorporate it in a look without fearing it creasing troughout the day.

Did you try this eyeshadow? What do you think?
Have a nice day :)

NOTD: Leopard print

Hello lovelies :)
I am currently loving the new nail polishes from Lala Berlin for Catrice LE and I decided to do some nail art with it. I am not completly satisfyed with the result, but we learn every day and not everything can be perfect. This was my first attempt at making leopard print and here is what I used:

*Catrice Colour Brightening Base Coat 01 On Top Of The Alpes
*Catrice C01 Shade of grey
*Catrice C02 Chilly White
*Catrice C05 Ruling Red

I used 2 coats of Colour Brightening Base Coat as my base colour and than layered 1 layer of  C02 Chilly White. After my base colour was dry I used C01 Shade of Grey to outline where the spots will be. After everything was dry I used C05 Ruling Red for to fill spots.

It looks much easier than it actually is, hopefully I will get better at doing leopard print in the future, since I really like the look.

Did you ever try to do leopard print?
Have a nice day ;)

My skin care rutine

Hello lovelies :)
I had this post planed a while ago, but decided to postpone it for a bit just so that I was 100% that all of the products shown in this post suit my skin. I use products from Afrodita because so far only this brand of skin care really did something for my skin. Here are all the products I use:

MORNING RUTINE

First things first I use Afrodita young & pure purifying foam for oily and impure skin. This foam helps me mattify my skin and cleans it, preparing it for other products. After that I use Natural Lift anti-wrinkle eye cream on my lid and my under eye area. Aldough this cream is quite rich it sinks into the skin quickly, it also makes my eye area feel much softer and less irritated. I finish my morning rutine with Oil control mattifying serum which mattifys my skin and keeps it hydrated troughout the day. Without using this serum I become oily much quicker, so it definetly works for me.

NIGHT RUTINE

I start my night rutine with young & pure purifying foam which not only cleans my skin but also gently removes any make up I was wearing. If I use it for removing make up I use 2 or 3 pumps of the product (depending on how much make up I wear) and if I use it for cleaning my skin I use only 1 pump. After that I apply Natural Lift anti-wrinkle eye cream on my eye area and Oil control moisturizing cream on my face. Aldough this cream is really good at hydrating my skin and pore minimizing I am thinking about switching it up with the serum, just because I do not feel the need to use two different products that do almost the same thing. This cream sinks into the skin really quickly and mattifys it while keeping it nicely hydrated. After that I use Natural lift anti-wrinkle mosturizing serum on my face and neck, which is on its own too rich for my skin, but with the oil control cream underneath tones it down a bit and makes the whole face look more matt than just using the serum on it's own.

OPTIONAL PRODUCTS

I use these products from time to time, depending on the situation. For instance when I am wearing wareproof make up that the foam can not remove I will use eather Clear phase micellar solution or Clean phase eye make up remover, depending on how much eye make up was left over after clensing my skin. I like to use Clean phase eye make up remover more than micellar solution just because it is quicker and I do not mind the oily film that Clean phase eye make up remover leaves. In case I run out of purifying foam I switch to young & pure refreshing toner for normal to oily skin, which I do like, but I just prefer the foam a bit more, because it removes make up better.

In case my skin is acting really nasty (or 1 a month) I will use a lemon scrub (just lemon juice mixed with some sugar), which leaves my skin really smooth. If I get a spot I usually treat it with tea tree oil, which helps it cure faster. The most important thing is ofcourse drinking enough water, I drink at least 2 l of water a day, sometimes even more, depending on the weather.

Well that would be for today. What is your skin care rutine?
Do you use any of the same products as me?
Have a nice day ;)

REVIEW: Sleek Au Naturel palette

Hello lovelies :)
I love Sleek palettes and I think I am not the only one. I currently own 4 and I can not pick my favourite because they are all soo awesome. I do not think that it is much of a surprize that Au naturel became my go to eyeshadow palette for every day, sice it has such nice celection of neutral eyeshadows.

This palette comes in a standard sleek black plastic packaging and has a mirror. It is quite sturdy and can withstand traveling with ease. Each eyeshadow is 1,1g/0.03 oz and there are 12 eyeshadows in the palette.

There is a nice mix of matte and shimmer eyeshadows, to be precise, there are 8 matte eyeshadows and 4 shimmery eyeshadows. The pigmentation does wary a bit troughout the palette, but even the shades that are not the most pigmented are still workable and can be layered to achieve better pigmentation. All of the shades are bleandable and easy to apply, there was no fallout, but I always tap my brush before I apply the eyeshadow. There was no fading, but the shades did crease on me after 10 hours.

Nougat:  A matte, buttery, creamy shade which is a great highlight or base colour. Does not have the best pigmentation in the palette, but it is still pretty pigmented.
Nubuck: A matte, also very creamy and buttery shade, and with a very small hint of grey in it. Pigementation is medium.
Cappucino: A matte, flesh coloured shade with a hint of grey. Pigmentation is medium.

Honeycomb: A matte warm beige, with a hint of yellow in it. Pigmentation is great.
Toast:  A matte light orange shadow. Has the best pigmentation of all the light matte shades.
Taupe: A light shimmery champagne shade with hints of peach. It is very pigmented and the shimmer in it is lovely.

Conker: A shimmery dark brown with a hint of purple. Pigmentation is great.

Moss: It is a dark olive green brown shade with a hint of shimmer. Pigmentation is great.

Bark: A dark matte cool based brown with awesome pigmentation.

Mineral Earth:  A shimmery dark brown that is more warm than Conker. Pigmentation is amazing.
Regal: A matte dark purple with hints of brown. It has nice pigmentation.
Noir: A dark matte black. It is really black and really pigmented.
All in all I really like this palette. The selection of colours is nice and they vibe nicely together. It is definetly a nice nautral palette for any neutral eyeshadow lover.

Do you have any Sleek palettes? Which one is your favourite?
Have a nice day ;)

FOTD: Purple & gold

Hello lovelies :)
When fall and winter come around the corner I tend to gravitate to purple and gold eyeshadows. That makes Sleek i-Divine vintage romance palette one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes to use in fall and winter. I decided to create a look where I use only this palette in conjunction with some other products.

Products used:
*Essence I <3 stage eyeshadow base
* Sleek i-Divine vintage romance palette
*Catrice liquid eyeliner in C01 Peacoctail (Feathered Fall LE)
*Catrice Lash Extension volume mascara

First things first I started by priming my eyelids with the Essence I <3 stage eyeshadow base. After that I used a fluffy brush to apply Propose in Prague in my crease. With a standard eyeshadow brush I applied Meet in Madrid on the inner two thirds of my lid.

I used A vow in Venice on the outher third of the lid and a bit in the crease. I used a mix of Honeymoon in Hollywood and Bliss in Barcelona to deepen up the look in the outer V.

I finished my look by applying Catrice liquid eyeliner in C01 Peacoctail on my lash line and a coat of Catrice Lash Extension volume mascara to my upper lashes.

And that is it, it is quite a simple look now that I am thinking about it, but I really love it. I usually use a black eyeliner when I am doing looks like this, but I could not resist using Peacoctail this time. It is just the most beautifull eyeliner for brown eyes. I do not like liquid eyeliners but I love this one soo much that I am willing to use it.

What are your favourite colours to wear in fall/winter?
Have a nice day ;)

REVIEW: Essence Come To Town lipstick (02 wrapped in pink)

Hello lovelies :)
December is quickly aproaching and with it the holiday season. That means a lot of holiday sets and limited edition items in make up. This year Essence came out with the Come to Town trend edition, which just hit the stores a few days ago here in Slovenia. The lipstick I am reviewing today was the only item that really sparked my attention in this collection (and a nail polish set, but currently I am convincing myself that I do not need any more nail polish). I had a chance to see the collection live at the Essence & Catrice event and I decided to grab the lipstick then and there, since I usually miss all of the trend collections.

The lipstick comes in a pretty standart Essence lipstick packaging, but this time the packaging is the same colour as the lipstick, the name of the lipstivk is written at the bottom of the tube on a sticker. While the packaging is not my favourite, because I think that it is a bit too bulky, it does it's job well and will not break while traveling. there is 3,8g / 0.13 oz. of lipstick.

The lipstick is pink, with a hint of purple in it. The formula is not that different than their longlasting lipstick formula, but I have a feeling that is this lipstick is just a bit more creamier and mosturizing. It applies nicely, without streakyness or draging and is comfortable to wear. It lasts on me for about 5 hours without eatng and with minimal drinking. It also does not feather outside the lip line, but so far none of the lipstick I own did that. When it rubbs off it leaves a sheer pinkish stain behind.

All in all I really like this lipstick, it is a nice addition to my lipstick collection, since I do not have much pink lipsticks. If you enjoy Essence longlasting lipsticks and like this colour I think you won't be disappointed.

Come to Town collection also came with two nailpolish sets. If you are interested in the Naughty or Nice set you can click here to read Taya's review and see swatches of each nail polish.

Did you get anything from the Come to Town collection?
Have a nice day :)

REVIEW: Catrice Velver finish line

Hello lovelies :)
When Catrice came out with this new line I was really excited, since Catrice foundations proved to be the only foundations from the drugstore that work with my skin nicely (all the other foundations do not match, look patchy or cakey and just not appealing on me). Naturally I wanted to try these products and you can only imagine my happines when we got these products on the Essence & Catrice event. I have been wearing these products since and I think that it is safe to say that they are my favourite face products. Here is why.

Velvet finish foundation with hyaluron (010 Light Velvet)

What Catrice says about this foundation:
Velvety-matt foundation combines moisturizing hyaluron with a caring repair complex of vitamins E + B5 and allantoin.

It comes in a nice glass packaging, like all the other Catrice foundations, with a convenient pump. There is 30 ml / 1 fl.oz. of product. I find that I need less than a pump to cover up my entire face. This foundation has medium covaridge and can be build up. It has a really nice skin like finish. I also really like that it has an spf of 30. I do set it with powder, but of you do not have as oily skin as me you can get away with not setting it, since it does not move or budge troughout the day. I like everything about this foundation, the look, the feeling on the skin, the longevity, but I am not a big fan of the colour. I will talk more about this when we come to swatces of each product.

Velvet finish concealer with hyaluron (010 Velvet Ivory)

What Catrice says about this concealer:
Concealer with moisturizing hyaluron and caring repair complex. For an optical lifting  and anti-wrinkle effect. SPF 6. dermatologically tested.

This concealer comes in a plastic packaging with a black lid and an applicator. There is 5 ml / 0.16 fl.oz. of product.
I love this concelaer for my under eye area. It is quite creamy, but it sets dry, so if you have a really dry under eye area you might not enjoy it for covering dark circles. I like a bit drier concealers (but not really dry) for my under eye because the skin around my eyes is oily (aldough sensitive) and anything that does not set dry starts to budge in 2 hours top. This concealer does not move for about 4 hours and if I set it with powder it stays pretty much put troughout the day. It has a really nice covaridge so a little can go a long way. It also brughtens the under eye area. It has an SPF 6, which is something, but it is not enough in my oppinion. I would like to se a much higher SPF in this product, but at least it is a nice start.

Velvet finish powder with hyaluron (020 Natural Velvet)

What Catrice says about this powder:
Longlasting velvety-matt powder with moisturizing hyaluron, vitamin E and soft-focus effect. Minimizes optically fine lines and wrinkles for an even and bright complexion. Dermatologicaly tested.

This powder comes in a transparent plastic packaging that is quite sturdy. There is 10g / 0.35 oz. of product in it.
I love this powder, it is really soft and creamy to the touch. I use it even when I do not need to set my foundation with powder because it gives just the most gorgeous finish I have ever seen in a powder. It does not look powdery or patchy, but really skin like while still mattifying. It is also quite longlasting. This powder really makes my skin look soo much better. It is perfect for setting my under eye concealer, since it really smoothens the surface. The only complaint that I have is that they could sneak a bit of mineral sunscreen in it, since all the other products have at least a bit of sunprotection, why not this one? Maybe that would mess up the formula of it, but I personally think that sun protection is very important and should be present in foundations, powders and concealers.

As you can see on my swatches the foundation is much darker / deeper than the concealer. I personaly would like a lighter shade of foundation in this line. I can get away wearing 010 Light Velvet for now, but I get much much paler in the winter and I have a feeling that a couple of months from now this shade won't be a match for me anymore. Also there are a lot of girls that have lighter complextion than me and I think that it is a shame that they would miss on such a great foundation just because the coloring is not right for them.

All in all I like this line, the products coordinate nicely together and they make the skin look really nice. I would just like to see more colour selection.

Did you try any of these products? What do you think?
Have a nice day :)

REVIEW: Catrice Absolute Matt eyeshadow palette

Hello lovelies :)
I have enough neutral matt colours in my stash already, so when I got this palette I wanted to give it to my sister, since I do not really need it. But I decided to try it out and I was really surprized with the quality of it.

The palette comes in a sleek plastic packaging with a transparent lid. Bottom of the packaging is black and it has some instructions for the look you can do with this palette. It contains 6g / 0.21 oz. of product (6 eyeshadows, 1g each). The packaging feels nice, aldough it is plastic and it is sturdy enough to survive traveling. You also get a double ended applicator with a brush on one end and a spondge tip applicator on another. It is not the best applicator but it is good for application on the go.

What Catrice says about this palette:
Six longlasting matt shades that suit anyone and any occasion - Simply a must-have! The silky and smooth texture comes in a variety of matt shades from light to dark and can be combined easily. With double-ended brush for easy application.

This palette consists of only neutral matt colours, both cool and warm toned. All of the colours are a bit powdery in the pan, but there was no fallout (I always tap off excess of my brush). All of them blended nicely and did not appear patchy on my lids. The first colour (white) goes a bit sheer on the lids, but others are nicely pigmented.Eyeshadows lasted on me for good 9 hours an then started creasing on be, there was also a bit of fading.

The first shade is pure white, I especially like it for a highlight or blending out other shades. It is not the most pigmented but it can be more opaque if you pat it on the lids. the next shade is a brownish flesh colour that can also be used as a highlight or a blending shade, I especially like to use it on the lid or as a base colour for my make up. It is a bit too light to be a crease colour (at least for my skin colour)

Next two colours are quite similar, yet still a bit different. The first one is a cool taupe colour and the second one is warm based medium brown that is just a hint deeper than the taupe colour.

The last two shades are the darkest shades in the palette, one is a warm based dark brown and another one is a blackened brown colour. Both are pigmented and I like to use them for my eyeliner or for my brows.

All in all I was plesantly surprized with this palette. I like matt eyeshadows, but drugstore matt eyeshadows are usually not the best quality. I am sure many of us already have these colours in our make up stash, so it might not be a must have for us, but if you are starting with make up, or are in need of a nice drugstore matt neutral palette I think this would be a nice palette for you.

Did you try this palette or any other from the Catrice line?
Have a nice day :)

NOTD: Moo Moo's on my nails

Hello lovelies :)
I can not get enough of my white nail polish. Mostly I am just wearing it alone, but from time to time I do a nail art with it where I use it as a base colour. I saw a similar manicure on instagram quite some time ago and I decided to recreate it.

Products used:
* Zoya - Snow White
* Essence - 144 black is back
* Essence - Hey Smiley
* Micro Cell 2000 Nail Wonder

First I used Micro Cell 2000 as a base and applied Snow White (2 coats). After everything was nice and dry i used Hey Smiley to paint my thumb pink and after that I used Black Is Back to do spots and eyes on my thumb and spots on my other nails.

I am loving the finished result, how about you?
Have a nice day ;)

Nail polish 101: the horror of the white nail polish

Hello lovelies :)
Is white nail polish still in fashion? I can not tell because, to be honest, I was never into fashion and anything related to it. In fashion or not, I finally bought one, because I needed one (or so I told myself) for a manicure that I had in mind (that I will hopefully do soon). But one does not simply buy a white nail polish and use it, oh no no, it is much more complicated than that. White nail polishes are known to be one of the hardest to get right (alongside with other beautifull light colours), because they are eather thick and opaque or thin and sheer (we are talking translucent). And I learned that the hard way… Let's just say that when I first painted my nails white it looked like I had Grand Canyon on my nails. But practice makes perfect and trough some trial and error I finally managed to »master« the art of applying white nail polish. I would like to share with you today how I apply this white goodness. Please feel free to leave any more tips and your favourite white nail polish :)

Show & Tell: Essence gel nails at home

Hello lovelies :)
How are you? We have a bit of a different post today. Sometimes I have a product that I want to talk about, but do not want to write a review on, and this is how I thought of this new little gem called Show & Tell. It is really quite simple. I show you the product and tell you something about it. It is more of a 'my experience with this product' kind of a thingy. I would really like to know your thoughts and experiences with the products I will talk about in this segment :D Today I want to talk to you about the Essence gel nails at home.

REVIEW: Real Techniques blush brush & stippling brush

Hello lovelies :)
I got my hands on some more RT brushes the previous month and I do not ever want to let them go :P I love to use these soo much I could not keep them clean even for a day, so they are a bit dirty (please forgive me). I am talking about the blush brush and a stippling brush. I was especially curious about the last one, since I did not have any stippling brushes before.

Both of the brushes have a thick pink hande with a black rubberized end that they can stand on. The handle feels nice in hands, it is not too thick or too clumsy. As always I expect RT brushes to be quite bigger than they actually are, and these are no exception. Both are smaller than I thought, but I like that, because it makes them more travel friendly and it gives you more control with make up application. Both brishes have sintetic hair that feels really nice and soft on the skin. They are still soft after a few washes and there was no shedding of the bristles.

BLUSH BRUSH

The bristles of this brush are cut in a very nice egg shape, that really enables precise application. It can be used for highlighting, blush, contour, bronzing and setting powder. I don't like to use it with a powder, since it does not grab as much product as I would like (I like to pile that powder on my face), but it worked well with al the products. The tip of the brush enables more precision, whish I especially like for the blush application. Bristles are black with greyish ends.

STIPPLING BRUSH

This is a duo fibre brush with shorter black bristles and longer white bristles sticking out of it. I used it for foundation, cream highlighter and cream blush. When used with a foundation it gives a really nice natural finish with no streakiness. I especially like to use it with my thicker foundations, because the brush sheers them down a bit and makes them look more natural.

All in all I really like these brushes, I really think you can not beat the quality for the price and I am not surprized that so many people use it. You can get both of these brushes at Ličila.si for 12,95 (blush brush) and 14,95  (stippling brush), Destination pretty for 12,45  (blush brush) and 13,55  (stippling brush) or moja drogerija for 12,95 (both).

Do you have any RT Brushes? What do you think of them?
Have a nice day ;)
