My (late) birthday haul

Hello lovelies :)
I had my birthday 10 days ago and I decided to spoil myself with some stuff from Destination Pretty. Basically I got some stuff I was interested in, mostly from Wet'n'Wild and a Jordana eyeshadow pencil. It is not really an exciting haul, but I decided to share these products with you anyway and write something quick about them :) I hope you will enjoy reading this post :)

REVIEW: BH Cosmetics Pink-A-Dot brush set

Hello lovelies :)
This time I have a quite long and picture heavy post for you :) I got these brushes quite some time ago and I finally had the time to write this lenghty review :) Hope you will enjoy reading it :) or watching the pictures :P

All together there are 11 brushes in this set, 6 eye brushes, 1 lip brush and 4 face brushes. All of them have black sintetic bristles with with white ends and black handles with pink dost and gold ferrules. The BH Cosmetics logo is imprinted on every handle in gold letters. All of them come nicelly packaged together in a tube like packaging that is awesome for travelling, aldough it is quite big. The packaging is pink with black dots on it.

FACE BRUSHES

All of the face brushes have thicker handles and are quite fluffy. None of them shed soo far. They feel really soft on the face and do not scratch.

This is my first fan brush and I was not really sure what to do with it at first, but I did start to like it because it is quite versetile. I used it mainly for lightly highlighting my cheek bones and sweeping off any eyeshadow fallout.

At first I was a bit iffy about this brush. I used it to apply setting powder on my face and it picks up very little product, which is a very good thing if you like to lightly powder your face, but I do like a bit more powder on my face. Because of that I started to use it for applying my more pigmented blushes and it is very good at that. It does not pick up too much product, so I am able to contol the application of the blush easy. I do not like it when a brush has only one pourpuse, but I am happy that I finally have a face brush that does not load on a ton of blush.

This is just a standard angeled brush that is awesome for applying blush or contour. Like the powder brush it picks up little product, which is a good thing for somebody that has problems with applying too much of blush, bronzor or contour, but can be a pain when you are working with products that are not that pigmented.

I do not like these brushes. I never use them to apply my foundation because i do not like the feeling of foundation sitting on my face. I much more preffer brushes that can buff foundation in or fingers. That being said, I did use this brush for foundation a few times, just for the pourpuse of this review. It distribues the product nicely and does not leave any lines visible on the face after you apply foundation. It is a nice brush,  but just not my cup of tea.

EYESHADOW BRUSHES

There are 6 eyeshadow brushes and a lip brush in this set along side with the face brushes. They range from your normal eyeshadow brush to some differently cut brushes. Handeles are slimer than on the face brushes and are also a bit longer. None of these brushes shed and all are really nice and soft aldough they have sintetic bristles. None of the brushes scratched on my skin or feeled uncomfortable.

I love blending brushes and this one is no exception :) It fits nicely into the crease and is perfect for blending out eyeshadow or applying a sheer wash of colour on the eye lid and in the crease.

This is quite an interesting brush for me. It is nice for packing eyeshadow on the lid, but because it is cut in an angle it fits into the curve of my inner corner really nicely, making it really good for applying highlight on the inner eye area. It is also quite flat so it is possible to apply eyeshadow under the lover lash line with it.

There is really not much to write about this brush. It does a great job at packinh the colour on the lid.

This is a really nice small and precise lip brush. It applyis lipstick nicely and it is also good for any delicate and details eyeshadow work on the eyes.

This brush has really short bristles and is really flat, because of that it is really nice to smudge liner or an eyeshadow accross your lash line. I also used it for applying eyeshadow or eyeliner between the lashes.

I do not see this as an eyeliner brush because it is too big for that, but it is really nice for applying eyeshadow on the upper or lower lash line or in the crease if you are doing a cut crease look. It can also be used for some blending, but mainly in small areas and it takes some time because it is not fluffed out.

Again I do not see this as an eyeliner brush because its bristles are too long for me to use it as an eyeliner brush, but it is nice for applying eyeshadow on the lower lash line and smudging it.

Well that was a long one. If you came this far, congratulations :) I hope you enjoyed reading :)
What is your favourite brush in your collection? I love all of my blending brushes :P
Have a nice day ;)

NOTD: Blue Gradient

Hello lovelies :)
I have a new NOTD to share with you today :) After I took photos of this manni one of my nails broke, so there will probably be no more NOTD posts until my nails grow back to a normal lenght. I am currently trying out something new to help me with my nails chipping and breaking problem, so hopefully they will be back soon :) In the mean time, here is a gradient I created . I do not do much "complicated" stuff on my nails just because I normally do not have time or do not want to spend soo much time doing my nails, since I change my nail colour almost every day, but doing gradients is quite fun and quick, so I might do more in the future. Enough ramblin' here is how I created this in case you are interested :)

I used Essence - 03 hello hipstetrs (yes, we pop! LE) as a base all over my nails (2 coats) and than mixed the same colour with Catrice - 15 Denim Moore and created the first layer of the gradient with this mixture and a spondge tip applicator. After that I mixed hello hipsters with Essence - 129 the boy next door

And that would be it for today :) I quite like how it turned out :)
What do you think? Do you like blue nail polish?
Hope you enjoyed this post :)
Have a nice day ;)

REVIEW: Essence yes we pop nailpolish

Hello lovelies :)
Huh, I feel like I have not written anything in months and it has only been a few days. Today we take a look at some new nail polishes that came out as a part of Essence LE called Yes, we pop! I picked  these up some time ago when I and Ajda accidentaly found them in one of our local drugstores (while searching for something else). They only had two bottles of each colour, which is quite a small amount, so I really hope these are still available somewhere if you decide to pick them up :)

The whole collection of nail polishes includes 4 colours:
01 hey smiley - pink
02 grab this hype - turquise
03 hello hipsters -  blue
04 have fun - yellow

They all come in a packaging that is standard for Essence nail polishes, with yes, we POP! written on them and a little moustache :) The brush is flat and quite nice, but can be a bit too wide if you have narrow nails. You get 8 ml / 0.27 fl. oz. of product.

All of the colours are nice and vibrant on the nails. Hey smiley, grab this hipe and hello hipster are all opaque in one (a bit thicker) coat, but I always used 2 thinner coats. Have fun is nicely pigmented, but it does show ridges on nails, so a base coat is required to use with this one (if you have ridges on your nails). Also, hello hipster was the only one that stained my skin, but it is also the most pigmented of the bunch. These all stayed on my nails for 2 days before chipping, which is standard for me when using Essence nail polishes. The drying time is medium.

To recap, these are standard Essence nail polishes, but are much more vibrant in colour and also more opaque. Also they have a moustache :D haha

What do you think of this collection? Do you like bright colours on your nails or are you more of a dark nail polish person?
Hope you enjoyed this post :)
Have a nice day ;)

NOTD: Dark grape

Hello lovelies :)
I have been into all different colours lately, from dark to pitch black. The beautifull nail polish I am showing off today is my recent purchase. It is a really nice dark purple with some purple micro sparkle in it. I think it is a really nice colour for those days when I want to go dark, but no completly black :) The colour is from Catrice and is called 59 First Class Up-Grape.

That would be all for today. Sadly I have much studying to do because I still have some exams which means I do not have much time to write reviews (I have sooooooooooo many products to write about), but I will try to do a review once a week. I still want to post at least three posts a week, so if you have something you would like me to write about just say it and I will try to do it :)

Have a nice day :)

DIY: Lip Exfoliator

Hello lovelies :)
If you are anything like me then you loose your lip balms all the time. I usually loose it, buy another one and than find the lost lip balm. Rinse and repeat for a few times and here I am with billion of lip balms that I am not going to use in time. I was thinking about finding another use for some lip balms so I can use them up faster, I came around the ELF lip exfoliator and this is how this idea came to life. It is basically a lip balm with some sugar in it to help exfoliate. Here is how I made it.

REVIEW: Make up revolution serum & primer and palette

Hey lovelies :)

Some time ago we got some new Makeup Revolution products from online store Ličila.si  to test out.
So here is our review :)

DEFENCE ANTI BACTERIAL SERUM AND PRIMER

I was putting of this review for almost two weeks, partly because I had no time to take pictures and partly because I do not like writing negative reviews. I really don't, but not all products can be perfect for everybody.

Primer comes in a nice sleek packaging with a silver lid. It is transparent so you can see how much product is left. I like that it feels sturdy and it looks nice. It has a pump that I am not a fan of, since it takes several tries to make the product come out. Only one pump gives enough product to cover the whole face.

Product is white and creamy and it soaks into the skin nicely, leaving a smooth surface for make up application. So what is the problem? For me it is too creamy. I have very oily skin and this primer does not hold my natural oil at bay, so you can only imagine the disaster that cream and natural oils make out of your make up. Do not get me wrong, my skin was nice and dewy at first, but after just two hours my make up started to slide off like nobodys buisness... I get longer wear out of my face products without primer! As for the anti bacterial serum aspect of this product, I needed to change my skin care rutine if I wanted to use this product, because it did not work with some of the stuff I usually use for my face, and I can not aprecciate that. When I use a new face care product I want it to work with my other face care products and my make up, and this product did not do that. Is the problem in my oily skin? Maybe. Maybe this serum/primer is ment for people with dry skin. That is my guess since it is creamy. As for my oily gals out there, I do not recommend this product.

I <3 MAKEUP GO TO THE CITY ! PALLETE

When i first saw this palette i was like : Oh look a copy of  Smokin pallete from MUA and a coppy of Tart amazonian paletts.  And let me just say i swatch shadows from both of tha paletts (MUA and MR) and are exatly the same. I will post a comparison soon.
The palette comes in a round packaging, it's a size of CD. The lid is clear so you can see the colors trough. The name of the palette is on a lid in a metalic purple color. The name started to rub of after a week in my makeup bag.
Inside you get 6 eyeshadows, one of them is matt (5g all six of them together), 2 matt blushes (6,5g) and a highlighter (4,5g). I hate the fact that they don't have any names.
The first eyeshadow is a matt creamy nude shade, which i love for higlight under my browbone. Second one is a georgeous plumy shimmery shade and the third one is a blue shimmery shade.
Next one is deep forest green shade which i have been using as an eyeliner a lot since i got it. Next one is greyish shade with toupe undertone. And the last eyeshadow in this pallete is a nice purple shade.
First blush is a really nice fresh hot coral shade, which i have been wearing a lot, second one is a hot fushia pink, which i can't seem to pul off on my face.It does not suit me at all and the last is an amazing highlighter. I have been using it since the day i got this pallete.

I must say that i did not expect much from this pallete but it suprised me. Eyeshadows are super pigmented, easy to blend, almost no fallout and with the MR primer they lasted on my eyes for 7 hours without creasing, which is a lot for my oily eyelids.

The blushes suprised me also they are so freaking pigmented.  The coral one lasted on my cheeks for 4 hours on a realy humid day and since i am always touching my face (bad Ajda), bloushes usualy don't last on me.

The highligter became a part of my everyday face routine, i really like it, it gives a nice sheen and it's not to shimmery. I use it every day, exept the days when i am using Sleek blushes, where a highlighter would be too much.

You can get this pallete on Ličila.si for 9,95€, they also have a more everyday pallete with neutural colours and a bronzer instesd of one blushes.
For the price i think is a great palette.

Do you have any of those products? Are you planning to try them?

Have a lovely day!

Ajda & Tjaša
